March 3, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occured at 7200 Irvington about 8:10 a.m. today (March 3).

The identity of the male victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer T. Van reported:

The driver of a black Chevrolet suburban turned southbound onto Irvington from Post Street and then continued to travel south on Irvington.  As the driver completed the turn onto Irvington, a pedestrian (victim), attempted to cross Irvington, not at a crosswalk.  The Suburban then struck the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the Suburban remained at the scene and further investigation determined he was not impaired.
