Investigation into Shooting at 6200 North Shepherd
July 7, 2015 - The shooting of a male burglary suspect at 6200 North Shepherd Drive about 1:45 a.m. today (July 7) by a business owner will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The suspect, 23, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
The victim, John Kleiber, 52, was not injured in this incident.
HPD Homicide Division Officers K. Winningham and S. Overstreet reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a burglary in progress at a gun shop located at the above address. Upon arrival, the business owner, Mr. Kleiber, stated he had shot at unknown suspects attempting to break into his business. A male, later identified as suspect Davis, was found at the scene. It is believed two other suspects may have fled the scene. It is unknown if they were also injured.
