January 16, 2015 - Charges have been filed against three suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of a man found at 10131 Emnora about 7 a.m. on November 16, 2014.
The three suspects are Andres Rojo (H/m, 19), Jorge Castro (H/m, 17) and Edgardo Ligas (H/m, 19). Each is charged with capital murder in the 337th State District Court. Photos of all three males are attached to this news release.
The victim, Rikko Armando Valencia, 19, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Racus, Senior Police Officers L. Lovelace and X. Avila, and Officer L. Bailey reported:
Mr. Valencia got off work about 4:20 a.m. and was walking home. As Valencia crossed a church parking lot at the above address, he was shot by an unknown suspect(s). A groundskeeper arrived at the building about 7 a.m. and found Valencia deceased in the parking lot.
Further investigation identified three males as suspects in this case. Those suspects, Rojo, Castro and Ligas, were arrested on Thursday (Jan. 15) without incident. Each admitted to his role in the murder, stating robbery was the motive.
