January 8, 2015 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 6601 Dunlap #3010 about 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 6).
The suspect, Julio Tumax (H/m, 28) is charged with murder in the 183rd State District Court. He is charged in the death of Ruben Virgilio Cano-Rodriguez, 30, of the above address, who was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A photo of the suspect Tumax is attached to this news release.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant H. Chavez and Officer R. Lujan reported:
Mr. Cano-Rodriguez and a friend were sitting and drinking in the living room at the above address. A family member in another room reported hearing a disagreement between Cano-Rodriguez and his friend and then a gunshot. When the family member went to see what happened, he saw Cano-Rodriguez's friend fleeing the residence and Cano-Rodriguez suffering from a gunshot wound. Investigators are currrently looking for the friend to question him in the incident.
Further information was developed on the whereabouts of Tumax and, on Wednesday (Jan. 7) he was arrested without incident.
