2nd Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 7925 F. M. 1960
February 16, 2015 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of one woman and wounding of another at 7925 F. M. 1960 about 7:30 p.m. on February 11.
The suspect, Dante Azjan Thomas (b/m, 21), is charged with murder and aggravated assault of a family member in the 177th State District Court. He is accused in the shooting death of his great aunt, Charlotte Ellis, 68, and the wounding of her daughter, Damitra Ellis, 45 (Thomas' cousin). Ms. Ellis was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Rhoads and Officer R. Ridel reported:
Charlotte and Demitra Ellis were sitting inside Charlotte's truck in the parking lot of Willowbrook Mall at the above address. At some point, both women were shot. Charlotte Ellis died at the scene and Demitra was transported to the hospital.
Further investigation identified Thomas as the suspect in this case. He was arrested on Friday (February 13) and subsequently charged for his role in the shooting. Thomas had been living with both victims since he was released from the Harris County jail on January 30 in relation to another crime.
