April 27, 2015 - Houston police are investigating an apparent murder/suicide incident at 7422 Ashmole about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday (April 26).

The female victim, Veronica Flores, 38, of the above address, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The suspect, Benicio Lopez,55, also of the above address, suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officers T. Miller and J. Saldana reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address. Officers arrived and determined Lopez and his wife Veronica, had gotten into an argument and were going through a divorce. At some point, Lopez pulled out a gun and shot his wife in the abdomen, and then turned the gun on himself.
