Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Traffic Accident at 7600 Gulf Freeway

May 27, 2014 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 7600 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 5:10 a.m. on Sunday (May 25).

The suspect, Blisha Marie Puga (w/f, 35), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 262nd State District Court.

The identity of the female victim, 49, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer ? Ho reported:

Puga was driving a black Saab northbound on the Gulf Freeway when she failed to maintain a single lane and struck the right side of a white Ford Taurus.  The victim, the driver of the Taurus, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Puga was detained, found to be intoxicated and subsequently charged.
