May 19, 2014 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 13822 Northlake Drive about 7:25 p.m. on Saturday (May 17).

The suspect, Michael Anthony Matthews (b/m, 22), is charged with murder and manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance in the 177th State District Court.  He is accused in the death of Marquis Demetria Isabelle, 20.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant S. Murdock and Officer K. McDonald reported:

Ms. Isabelle was visiting Matthews at his residence at the above address when they got into an argument over who should be allowed to drive Isabelle's vehicle.  Matthews then retrieved a gun from his residence and shot Isabelle.  HPD officers arrived and found a large amount of narcotics and money inside the home.  Matthews was arrested at the scene without incident and subsequently charged.
