March 24, 2014 - A woman injured in a traffic accident at 900 North Loop (North Interstate Highway 610) about 1:10 p.m. on Feb. 26 has died.

The female victim, 69, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where, on March 7, she was pronounced dead.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Vanderbull and Officer S. Kong reported:

The driver of a maroon Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling eastbound in the 900 block of the North Loop when he failed to maintain a single lane and struck the barrier.  The impact caused the vehicle to roll over on its side, coming to a rest at the ramp to the Hardy Toll Road.  Both the driver, 71, and the passenger (victim) were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital.  The driver was treated for minor injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
