Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Traffic Accident at 7000 Banyan
June 9, 2014 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 7000 Banyan about 1:05 a.m. on Saturday (June 7).
Suspect Cleven Pierson (b/m, 31) is charged with driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #11. A photo of Pierson is attached to this news release.
The female passenger, 43, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer J. Best reported: Pierson and the woman were traveling westbound on Banyan in a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck when they began arguing. As the argument continued, the woman exited the vehicle while it was still moving. She struck the roadway and was then struck by the Silverado. Pierson stopped the vehicle and called 9-1-1. Pierson told investigators both he and the woman had been drinking prior to the accident. Alcohol was also found inside the vehicle.
