July 15, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal shooting at 1809 Dunstan about 8:35 p.m. on Saturday (July 13).

The male victim, 16, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer C. Scales and Officer T. Ferguson reported:

The victim had possession of a pistol belonging to a witness who stated he had turned away from the victim when he heard a gunshot.  He then saw the victim had been shot.  The witness called 911 and rendered first aid until paramedics arrived.

There are no charges in this incident at this time.

The investigation is continuing.
