January 28, 2012 - es have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 13300 Briar Forest Drive about 10 p.m. last Friday (Jan. 25).

The suspect, Karim Bassam Nabulsi (A/m, DOB: 6-23-95) is charged with felony racing in the 184th State District Court.  A photo of Nabulsi is attached to this news release.

The victim, Jesus Brito, 17, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Tapia and Officer E. Morgado reported:

Mr. Brito, driving a black Chevrolet Camaro, was racing Nabulsi, who was driving a silver Mercedes.  Both drivers were traveling at a high rate of speed when Brito lost control of the Camaro, failed to maintain a single lane, jumped a median curb and struck two trees, killing him.  Nabulsi was arrested at the scene without incident.
