December 11, 2013 - The death of a man following an incident at 7845 Woodlyn about 7 a.m. on Tuesday (Dec. 10) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The victim, Salvador Badillo, 86, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Sergeant M. L. Holbrook and Senior Police Officer P. Vela reported:

The female resident, 60, of the above address invited Mr. Badillo to stay overnight at her residence due to the cold weather. Both Badillo and the female were drinking alcoholic beverages in the residence when a verbal argument began and escalated into a physical confrontation. Badillo then struck the female in the face with a bottle. The female then used the same bottle to strike Badillo. Both individuals sustained facial and head injuries and were transported to the hospital for their injuries. The incident will be referred to a grand jury.
