May 14, 2012 - Houston police are investgating a fatal traffic accident in the 13100 block of Misty Willow about 3:45 p.m. last Friday (May 11).

The female victim, Jenny Stanfield, age 72, of The Woodlands, was transported to Houston Northwest Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Kung and Officer M. Mathews reported: 

The driver of a tractor-trailer truck was traveling eastbound on North Willow Place Drive and approaching Misty Willow Drive.  Ms. Stanfield was driving a tan Mercury Villager minivan southbound in the 13100 block of Misty Willow.  As Stanfield was leaving a stop sign, she failed to yield the right of way and was struck on the right passenger side by the tractor-trailer truck. 

Paramedics transported Stanfield to the hospital.  The male driver, 59, of the tractor-trailer truck was transported to Willowbrook Methodist Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The female passenger, 58, in the Mercury was also transported to Willowbrook Methodist Hospital where she was then transferred by Life Flight helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.

The investigation is continuing.
