March 22, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 670 Maxey Road about 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday (March 21).

The victim, Micheal M. McClain, 21, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Senior Police Officer M. Waters reported:

Mr. McClain was visiting an apartment at the above address with two male suspects when a physical altercation started.  McClain opened the door to the apartment and then returned inside.  Witnesses then reported hearing a gunshot and saw McClain run from the apartment to the courtyard of the apartment complex.  Both suspects fled the scene.  One suspect later returned and was taken into custody for questioning.

The investigation is continuing.
