February 2, 2012 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of a child at 9950 Club Creek about 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 30).

The suspect, Rosa Gonzalez (H/f, DOB: 12-28-70), is charged with injury to a child in the 180th State District Court. She is accused in the beating death of her daughter, Candy Flores, 5.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Roberts and Senior Police Officer K. Carr reported:

Gonzalez told investigators Candy fell from a bathroom toilet to the tile floor where she struck her forehead. HFD paramedics responded to the scene and attempted to revive Candy, but she died at the scene.

Further investigation led to Gonzalez's arrest and charges being filed against her on Wednesday (Feb. 1).
