November 14, 2011 - The fatal shooting of a man at 10541 Kelburn at 8:30 p.m. last Friday (Nov. 11) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The victim, Darrin Doucet, 21, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. McGray and Senior Police Officer T. Tyler reported:

Mr. Doucet was visiting a friend at the friend's residence on Kelburn when the two began arguing about a previous, ongoing disagreement.  At some point, shots were fired and a third person, a suspect, left the location to call emergency personnel.  Doucet's friend also called for paramedics.  Paramedics arrived and pronounced Doucet deceased.  Due to conflicting statements regarding who initially had the weapon and who initated the confrontation, the case will be referred a grand jury.
