May 23, 2011 - Houston police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide of a male and his estranged wife found in separate locations in the 12000 block Woodforest Boulevard shortly after 8 a.m. today (May 23).

The female victim, Lisa Campos, 45, was found with a gunshot wound to the torso outside her residence at 12475 Woodforest.  She was transported to L.B.J. Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The suspect, Ricky Campos (w/m, DOB: 6-25-61), was found deceased at a neaby location with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. McGray and Senior Police Officer T. Tyler reported:

Suspect Campos drove to the Woodforest Chase Apartments at 12475 Woodforest Blvd. about 8 a.m. where he found his estranged wife, Lisa, inside her vehicle.  Campos fired multiple shots into the car and Ms. Campos was struck in her upper body.

Soon after, suspect Campos was found dead inside his vehicle a few blocks away.  The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating that shooting since it happened outside the city limits of Houston.
