July 15, 2011 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 8300 Canyon about 1:20 a.m. on July 5.

The suspect, Lawrence St. James Gaderson (b/m, DOB: 10-8-89), is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court.  He is accused in the death of Christopher James Murray, 32, of the above address, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital.  A photo of Gaderson is attached to this release.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants C. Howard and E. Cisneros reported:

Mr. Murray was in the parking lot of the Bellfort Pines apartments at the above location when he was shot several times.

The shooting is believed to be the result of a dispute between Murray and several males with whom he got into a physical confrontation sometime during the evening of July 4.

Further investigation identified Gaderson as a suspect in this case and on Tuesday (July 12) he was arrested without incident.
