February 28, 2011 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in the 7000 block of Sur Court about 12:40 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 25).

The victim, George Robertson, 22, of Houston suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants K. Deese and R. Odom, Senior Police Officer L. Lovelace and Officer N. Wackman reported:

HPD officers responded to a shooting in the roadway at the above address. Witnesses reported the victim had been involved in a physical altercation at St. Lo Park shortly before the shooting . At some point during the altercation, the unknown suspect retrieved a gun and shot the victim.

The investigation is continuing.
