Update: Males Wanted for Questioning in Fatal Stabbing at 8445 Winkler Drive
August 22, 2011 - Houston police homicide investigators are asking for the public's assistance in locating two persons of interest wanted for questioning - but not charged - in the fatal stabbing of a man at 8445 Winkler Drive #39 about 2:15 a.m. on Aug. 7.
The suspects are known only as "Chaparro" and "Guerro." Both are about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weigh about 160 pounds. Investigators want to speak with them in the murder of Reece Daniel Gonzales, 24, of Fresno, Texas. Mr. Gonzales suffered stab wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Photos of Chaparro and Guerro are attached to this news release.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Senior Police Officer M. Waters reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a stabbing at the above location. When officers arrived, HFD emergency personnel were providing medical assistance to Mr. Gonzales and transported him to the hospital. Further investigation determined the initial assault began inside apartment #39 and Gonzales attempted to flee the scene by driving away.
