Fatal Shooting at 5400 Birdwood

September 20, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5400 Birdwood about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday (Sept. 19). 

The victim, Kareem Kentriell James, 31, of the above address, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Roberts and Senior Police Officer R. Chappell reported: 

Mr. James was involved in a shootout with an unknown male suspect in the parking lot of an apartment complex.  The suspect, described only as a black male, fled with a Hispanic female and an unknown black male driving in a gray Ford F-150 pickup truck. 

The motive for the shooting is not known at this time.
