Fatal Traffic Accident at 4600 North Freeway

November 15, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 4600 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 2:10 a.m. on Saturday (Nov. 13).

The identity of the deceased male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Couch and Officer E. Morgado reported:

Four vehicles - a red Honda Accord, a black Chevrolet Silverado, a gray Honda Civic and a gray Buick Park Avenue - were traveling south on the main lanes of the North Freeway.  The victim was driving the Accord.  

The victim lost control of his vehicle and struck the freeway wall.  The vehicle was then struck from behind by the Silverado truck.  At some point, the victim appeared to have exited his vehicle when he was then struck by the Buick and/or the Honda Civic.  The driver of the Buick fled on foot.  The drivers of the Civic and Silverado provided statements to investigators.

The investigation is continuing.
