Suspects Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 11000 Sagevalley May 27, 2010 - Charges have been filed against two suspects in a fatal shooting in the 11000 block of Sagevalley Drive about 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday (May 26). Raymond Preston Moreno (H/m, DOB: 8-6-91) and David Chavez (H/m, DOB: 9-12-88) are charged with murder in the 337th State District Court and face a pending charge of evading arrest. They are accused in the killing of Favian Ramirez, 20, of the above address, who suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R.J. Blain and Senior Police Officer J.F. Robles reported: Moreno and Chavez were involved in an earlier disturbance with Mr. Ramirez. Moreno and Chavez later returned to the scene and shot in the direction of Mr. Ramirez’s residence. Ramirez was struck and transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Patrol officers saw Moreno and Chavez fleeing the location in a vehicle and attempted to stop them. Moreno and Chavez fled and then crashed their vehicle into a pole. A police car was also struck by Moreno while attempting to flee. Moreno was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the shooting and the two motor vehicle accidents.
