Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 4103 Sue Ellen March 5, 2010 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 4103 Sue Ellen about 7:30 a.m. on Thursday (Mar. 4). Hugo Fernel Romero (H/m, DOB: 11-5-72) is charged with murder in the 337th State District Court. He is accused of shooting Enrique Berman, 34, of Houston, who was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W.L. Meeler and Senior Police Officer J. Selvera reported: Mr. Berman was visiting Romero at his residence at 4103 Sue Ellen when without warning or provocation, Romero shot Berman in the neck. Romero attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle, but struck another vehicle, disabling his car. He then went back to his home and was arrested shortly after by responding officers. During the investigation, a large amount of cocaine was recovered from Romero’s residence. In addition to the murder charge, Romero is also charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.
