Burglary Suspect Fatally Shot at 2904 Baer January 11, 2010 - The fatal shooting of a burglary suspect by a homeowner at 2904 Baer #5 about 6:30 a.m. on Saturday (Jan. 9) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury. The deceased suspect, Marcel Jaquan Simpson (b/m, DOB: 5-29-90), was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital. A second suspect, Sabrina Nickole Walker (b/f, DOB: 2-10-88), was arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation in the 182nd State District Court. The male shooter, 39, the homeowner of the above address, was not injured. HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers T.W. Miller and M.J. Miller reported: The homeowner was asleep with doors to his townhome locked and the burglar alarm set when he heard the alarm go off. The homeowner, who recently had been burglarized, looked out his bedroom patio door and saw the suspect (Simpson) carrying his (homeowner's) television set out the patio door. At that time, the homeowner shot the suspect, who dropped the TV set and jumped a fence. The suspect collapsed on the other side of the fence. The homeowner called 911 and paramedics transported the suspect to the hospital. The suspect's girlfriend, Walker, arrived on the scene right after the shooting. Further investigation revealed she was acting as the getaway driver during the burglary. She was taken into custody and charged in the incident.
