Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Stabbing at 3714 Overbrook Lane
December 9, 2010 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a woman at 3714 Overbrook Lane about 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 8).
The suspect, John Hiller Shank (w/m, DOB: 2-9-90), is charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court. He is accused in the killing of his mother, Nancy Hiller Shank, 52, of the above address. Ms Shank suffered a stab wound to the neck and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Roberts and Senior Police Officer R. Cervantes reported:
Mrs. Shank and her son got into an argument that, at some point, turned into a physical fight. John Shank then stabbed his mother and fled the scene in a vehicle. He was taken into custody a short time later in the 10700 block of the Katy Freeway (Interstate Highway 10 West) without incident.
