Fatal Traffic Accident at 23800 Eastex Freeway Service Road April 23, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 23800 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) service road about 10:30 a.m. today. The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G.T. Hall and Officer D. Harwell reported: The victim was driving a yellow Chevrolet Aveo northbound on the Eastex Freeway service road and changed lanes to the center lane. At the same time, an unknown truck to her left, entered the center lane. The victim steered to the right, lost control of the Aveo and struck a tree. There is a possibility there was a prior confrontation between the female victim and the driver of the truck. There is no evidence the vehicles hit one another, but investigators are seeking information on the accident and ask anyone with information to contact the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division at 713-247-4072.
