Suspect Charged, Wanted in Male's Death at 5562 Gasmer
September 30, 2009 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the death of a man found at 5562 Gasmer about 7:25 a.m. on Sept. 14.
The suspect, Melchor Izquierdo, 29, has an unknown date of birth and unknown address. He is charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court. Izquierdo is described as being about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build, and is missing a tooth near the front of his mouth. He has an old puncture wound to the right side of his torso and a scar on his upper left shoulder. A photo of Izquierdo is attached to this news release.
Izquierdo is accused in the killing of Estevan Francisco Tellez, 42, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers A. Brown and C. Abbey reported:
Officers responded to a small business park in the 5500 block of Gasmer after workers found Mr. Tellez in the cab of a dump truck. Tellez appeared to have been in the cab of the truck for several days. He suffered multiple deep lacerations to his face. A hatchet was recovered at the scene.
Further investigation developed Izquierdo as the suspect in this case. He and Tellez were coworkers at a foundation business at 5562 Gasmer.
