Suspect Charged in Fatal Shooting at 7050 Inwood September 25, 2009 - Charges have been filed against a suspect in the fatal shooting of a man at 7050 Inwood about 10:05 a.m. on Thursday (Sept. 24). The suspect, Gwendolyn Guyton (b/f, DOB: 3-28-86), is charged with murder in the 185th State District Court. The victim, Mitchell Lovell Johnson, 28, of the above address, suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B.J. Harris and Officer R.P. Houghton reported: The suspect, Guyton, and her husband, Mr. Johnson, got into an argument. While Johnson was upstairs ironing his jeans so he could leave the residence, Guyton produced a pistol and fired it at him. Johnson was struck in the left side. Guyton called police to the scene where she told officers the shooting was an accident. She later confessed to the shooting, stating she wanted to scare her husband. KJS/JFC 9-25-09
