Investigation Into Fatal Shooting at 5504 Wipprecht

October 15, 2009 - The fatal shooting of a woman at 5504 Wipprecht Street about 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Oct. 14) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The deceased female, 37, of the above address, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to LBJ Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The female shooter, the deceased female’s roommate, has not been charged at this time.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Tolls and Officer J. Rodriguez reported:

The victim and her roommate got into an argument that, at some point, turned into a fight. As the victim assaulted her roommate, the roommate retrieved a pistol while she called 9-1-1. The victim again assaulted the roommate and, as the roommate tried to protect herself, a shot was fired.

The shooter has been questioned and this case is being reviewed by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
