Suspect Charged, Wanted in Fatal Shooting at 11400 Sandhurst
November 5, 2009 - Houston police homicide investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of three men found in 11400 block of Sandhurst about 9 p.m. on October 24.
The wanted suspect, identified as David Tramell McFarland (b/m, DOB: 6-20-89), is charged with capital murder in the 177th State District Court. A second suspect, Johnathan Ross Nickerson (b/m, DOB: 8-7-91), is in custody on the same charge in the same court.
The victims were identified as Narciso Briagas, 26, Miguel Angel Morales, 30, and Roman Gabriel Barragan, 16. All three, who lived in Houston, were pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants T. Griffin, T. Biggs, E. Cisneros and Senior Police Officers E. Castaneda and D. Vasquez reported:
Patrol officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle and found a white Dodge pickup truck on the side of the street in the 11400 block of Sandhurst. Two males were found sitting inside the vehicle with gunshot wounds and a third male was found outside the pickup, also with a gunshot wound.
Further investigation led to the identity of McFarland as the shooter and Nickerson as the other suspect in this case. Nickerson was arrested on October 26. Investigators determined the motive in the shooting was robbery.
