Shooting Incidents at 5900 Sayers and 5910 Hirsch March 3, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the wounding of five persons in two related shooting incidents - one at 5900 Sayers and the other at 5910 Hirsch - about 4 p.m. last Friday (Feb. 27). One victim, 16, was in serious, but stable condition at an area hospital. Two other victims were hospitalized in stable condition and two others were treated and released for their injuries. HPD Homicide Division Sergeants A. Semmelrock and C. Cegielski reported: HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting in-progress call at 5900 Sayers and found a male, 16, with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. The location is just north of the Barbara Jordan High School campus. Paramedics transported the victim to LBJ Hospital where he was treated and released. During the scene investigation, officers learned a second person had been shot and had fled from the Sayers location. That victim was also treated and released for his wound. The motive for the Sayers incident appears to be a verbal dispute between the two victims and suspects. The suspects fled on foot. Further investigation determined that someone involved in the shooting at Sayers followed the suspects on foot from Sayers to the Metro Bus Transit Center nearby at 5910 Hirsch Road. A second shooting incident occurred there, resulting in three people being shot. The suspect fled the location in an unknown vehicle. The victims in that shooting are being treated for their injuries. At this time, the suspects in both incidents are described only as unknown black males. Anyone with information on the suspects wanted in these incidents is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. JFC/KJS For additional
