Charges Pending in Fatal Shooting at 2700 Lorraine Street

June 30, 2009 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man in the 2700 block of Lorraine Street about 1:20 a.m. today. 

The suspect, Deborah Yvette Parker (b/f, DOB: 10-21-70), faces a manslaughter charge. 

The victim, 58, suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants W. Meeler and B. Williams, and Officer R. Figueroa reported: 

At about 10 p.m. on Monday (June 29), residents of the apartment complex at 2700 Lorraine saw the victim and his girlfriend (Parker) having a heated argument in the street.  After the argument was subdued, Parker and the victim returned to their apartment.  Several hours later, Parker went to another apartment unit, frantically yelling that the victim had been shot. 

The motive and circumstances for the shooting have not been determined at this time.
