Man Charged in 2006 Murder Investigation at 1251 Wilcrest June 19, 2009 - A Harris County grand jury has indicted a suspect in a murder investigation involving the disappearance of a three-year-old boy last seen at 1251 Wilcrest on April 7, 2006. The suspect, Roderick Fountain (b/m, DOB: 10-4-74), is charged with murder in the 208th State District Court after a grand jury reviewed evidence and indicted him on the charge on Thursday (June 18). He is accused in the murder of his 3-year-old son, Kendrick Jackson, who has not yet been found. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant E. Gonzalez and Senior Police Officer R. Chappell reported: On April 7, 2006, Fountain reported to HPD that his son Kendrick left the family apartment and disappeared while Fountain was doing laundry. The investigation led to Fountain being charged and convicted in a federal court for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison. An investigation into Kendrick’s disappearance conducted jointly by the FBI, HPD and Harris County District Attorney’s Office continued, with the FBI providing resources that were paramount to the investigation. As a result, a grand jury in the 183rd State District Court indicted Fountain for felony murder.
