Second Suspect Arrested in 2007 Murder Case October 6, 2008 - Houston police have arrested and charged a second suspect in the fatal shooting of three people found after a fire at 6122 Belcrest about 11:15 p.m. on November 12, 2007. The suspect, Curvis Lynn Bickham (b/m, DOB: 11-21-59), is charged with capital murder in the 177th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Elaine Foster, 42, Barbara Bailey, 45, and Jerome Perkins, 50. Another suspect, Cedric Eugene Johnson (b/m, DOB: 5/7/68), is also charged with capital murder in the same court and is currently in custody. HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. McStravick, W. Anthony and Officers E. Cisneros, J. Robles and R. Chappell reported: HFD firefighters responded to a fire at the location and discovered the deceased victims inside the residence. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and observed a white four-door car leaving the area. It is believed the fire was purposely set in order to conceal evidence of the shooting. A follow-up investigation and information obtained by investigators determined Bickham was involved in this incident and on Thursday (Oct. 2) he was arrested in the 12500 block of Newbrook without incident. |
