Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 4926 Southwind October 6, 2008 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 4926 Southwind about 10:40 a.m. on Saturday (October 4). The suspect, Samuel Lee Jefferson II (b/m, DOB: 9-29-89), is charged with murder in the 185th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Shanetria Treaneice Grogan, 19, of Houston, who suffered a gunshot wound to her head and died at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.C. Padilla and Officer J.C. Bonaby reported: Ms. Grogan was in her bedroom with her former live in boyfriend (Jefferson). Grogan’s mother, who was in the living room, heard a loud sound come from the bedroom and saw Jefferson leave the bedroom. As he left, Grogan’s mother asked what had happened, to which Jefferson replied, “nothing.” A short time later, Grogan’s body was found in her bedroom. Paramedics were called and pronounced her dead. Later the same day, Jefferson contacted homicide investigators and turned himself in. He provided a statement admitting he shot Grogan and led investigators to the possible murder weapon. According to family members, Grogan no longer wanted to have a relationship with Jefferson but allowed him to stay at her residence since he said he had no where else to live. GO/JFC |
