Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting at 7110 Woodfern June 26, 2008 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 7110 Woodfern about 1:30 p. m. on Wednesday (June 25). The suspect, Charles Jerod Bryant (b/m, DOB: 9-11-81), faces a murder charge. Bryant was taken into custody a short time after the incident. The victim, Daniella Vargas, 25, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeants D. A. Ferguson and M. S. Walker reported: Ms. Vargas’ estranged boyfriend, Bryant, unlawfully entered the residence where she lived, confronted her and shot her once. Bryant then confronted Vargas’ female cousin, shot at her, and fled the scene. Vargas’ cousin was not injured and Bryant was arrested a short time later. |
