Fatal Shooting at 3725 Reveille February 8, 2008 - Houston police will refer the fatal shooting of a theft suspect by a business owner at 3725 Reveille about 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday (Feb 6) to a Harris County grand jury. The suspect, 39, suffered a gunshot wound to his side and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office. The business owner was not injured. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Chandler and Officers R. Trevino and B.D. Evans reported: The owner of the Farmer Office Products was awakened by a loud banging noise coming from the front door of his business as he and his girlfriend slept inside. The owner’s girlfriend called police while the owner retrieved a weapon and exited the back door of the business to investigate the noise. As the owner walked outside, he saw a blue Chevrolet extended cab pickup truck backed up to a utility trailer parked along the side of the business (the trailer belonged to an acquaintance of the owner). The owner confronted the suspect as he attempted hitch the trailer to the truck. The suspect told the owner he was there to pick up the trailer, but the owner ordered him to get off his property and away from the trailer. The suspect disregarded the owner, entered his truck and attempted to drive away with the trailer in tow. The owner again ordered the suspect out of the truck, but the suspect disregarded his orders and drove his truck at the owner as he attempted to flee. As the suspect drove towards the owner, he shot at the suspect. The suspect managed to drive away from the location north on Reveille before he fell from the cab of the truck into the street. The truck continued to travel approximately half a block before striking a telephone pole in the 7500 block of Greendowns.
