Lane on March 10, 2007 about 7:30 a.m.
The victim is identified as Jabes Abadan Lopez-Vaquez,
31, of 6360 Skyline. He sustained a stab wound to the chest and
was pronounced dead at the scene.
The first suspect, Virjillio Perez-Vasquez (H/m,
DOB: 3-28-80), is charged with murder in the 182nd State District
Court.
His brother, Pedro Rey Perez-Vasquez (H/m, DOB:
1-28-84), is charged with tempering with evidence in the 182nd
State District Court.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants D.A. Ferguson
and B.J. Harris reported:
At approximately 1:30 a.m. a witness heard several
males arguing and then a female hollering nearby. The witness
went to bed and woke up later, and about 7:30 a.m. he went outside
his apartment. The witness observed Jabes Abadan Lopez-Vaquez
laying on the sidewalk near the area where he heard the disturbance
earlier in the morning (at the front door of apartment #71). The
witness observed Pedro Rey Perez-Vasquez sitting on a car in front
of the apartment, waiting on police and an ambulance to arrive.
It appears that Pedro Rey Perez-Vasquez received
information, which indicated that Virjillio Perez-Vasquez had
an argument with Jabes Abadan Lopez-Vaquez and stabbed him in
the chest. Virjillio then fled the scene. Pedro Rey went to the
apartment and attempted to clean up the blood in the carpet with
a household cleaner and called the police. Virjillio was arrested
this morning (March 11) at approximately 1:30 a.m. at 1000 South
Allen Genoa Road.
