Traffic Incident at 3000 North Highway 6 July 8, 2007 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 3000 North Highway 6 on Saturday (July 7) about 6 a.m. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant N.A. Perry and Officer C.E. Green reported: HPD officers responding to an accident arrived at the scene and discovered a deceased person in the roadway. The body of the unidentified male victim was struck by a vehicle, which failed to stop and give assistance. There were no witnesses to the initial impact. A witness came forward and provided information that he was travelling northbound on North Highway 6 behind a pickup truck. He observed the truck slow down to avoid hitting something in the road, however the witness himself did not have enough clearance and was not able to stop to avoid the victim. The witness called police from the gas station and returned to the scene to cooperate with the investigation.
