Incident at 12600 Newbrook

January 27, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 12600 Newbrook about 6:50 p.m. on Friday (Jan. 26).

The victim, Santos Ramirez, 40, of 7918 Corrales suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant N.T. Ruland and Officer E.H. Schmidt reported:

Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots in the apartment complex and went outside to investigate where they found Mr. Ramirez, a pizza deliveryman, lying on the pavement. The witnesses reported seeing an unknown suspect fleeing the scene in Ramirez's white Ford F-150 pick-up truck bearing Texas license plates #9NPV09.
