Incident at 9797 North Freeway

January 8, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 9797 North Freeway about 5:25 p.m. on Sunday (January 7).

The victim, Juan Armando Olivares, 29, of Dallas, Texas, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M.D. Newcomb and Officer A. Mares reported:

Officers responded to a shooting call at 9797 North Freeway, the Green Chase Motel, and found Mr. Olivares had been shot multiple times while sitting in a vehicle in the motel parking lot.

The suspects were described only as three Hispanic males seen leaving in a blue Chevrolet Silverado extended cab pickup truck, with molding on one side. One of the suspects was driving while the other two were seen in the bed of the truck.
