HPD Robbery Division/FBI Bank Robbery Task Force
Sergeant D. Ryza reported:
The suspect entered the Washington Mutual Bank
at 3636 Old Spanish Trail and waited in line to be called by the
next available teller. He presented a teller with a note demanding
money and stating he had a gun. The teller, although fearing for
her safety and that of her coworkers, attempted to stall the suspect
by telling him she did not have any money. The suspect told her
not to push any buttons and to give him an envelope with cash.
The teller complied and the suspect quickly left the bank. The
suspect was seen driving away in an older model two-door silver
Mitsubishi sedan.
