Update on Incident at 7404 Gessner Drive #108
February 23, 2007 -- Houston
police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a
man kidnapped during a home invasion. The kidnapping occurred
after the fatal shooting of a man at 7404 Gessner Drive #108 on
February 22, 2007 about 1 a.m.
The kidnapped victim Hector
Borja, (H/m DOB: 9-1-75), was taken from the scene of the
shooting at gunpoint and is still missing. A photo of the victim
is attached to this news release.
The deceased victim is identified as Francisco
Javier Avellaneda, 18, of 5909 Ranchester #1348. He sustained
multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.T. Mosqueda
and Officer L. Benavidez reported:
The residents of apartment #108 woke up to their
front door being forced open. Four or five males made their way
into the residence and held all the residents at gunpoint while
they searched for money and jewelry. Avellaneda, a nephew to the
renter, was shot during the incident.
During the course of the follow up investigation,
it was determined that the motive for this home invasion was to
find Borja. He was hidden inside the apartment and was forced
at gunpoint to go with the suspects. His life is considered to
be in danger.
