Update on Incident at 8601 Southwest Freeway
February 5, 2007 --Houston police
homicide investigators are seeking the public’s help in
identifying individuals driving in two suspicious vehicles during
the fatal shooting of a man at 8601 Southwest Freeway about 2:15
a.m. on Sunday (Feb. 4).
Investigators released photos matching the description
of two different Cadillac models seen leaving the scene of the
murder. One vehicle, believed to be a 1975
El Dorado convertible, is candy apple red. The second vehicle,
believed to be a 1985
smaller-model El Dorado convertible, is pearl white. Both
vehicles have a spare tire on the trunk and “Swanger”
rims, and are described as show or display cars.
Photos of both Cadillac models similar to those
described by witnesses are attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, who died at the scene,
is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's
office.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M.W. McStravick,
C.E. Elliott and Officers B.D. Evans and J.C. Bonaby reported:
The victim confronted the suspect in the parking
lot of a gas station. The suspect, an unknown light-skinned black
male, shot the victim several times and fled in the white Cadillac.
Witnesses reported seeing a second Cadillac (red), believed to
be involved in the shooting, also flee the scene.

the description of those in the photos or on possible suspects
