Incident at 3302 Berry Road #13

April 21, 2007 - Houston police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide incident at 3302 Berry Road #13 about 10:05 p.m. on Friday (Apr. 20).

The victim, identified as Maria L. Aguilar, 40, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, Marco Soto (H/m, DOB 12-27-73), suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and died at the scene.

Houston Police Homicide Division Officers E.R. Carstens and B.D. Evans reported:

Neighbors said the victim and suspect, who were girlfriend and boyfriend, got into an argument and then several gunshots were heard coming from their apartment. A few minutes later, neighbors looked in the apartment and saw both persons on the floor.

It appears that during the argument, for unknown reasons, the suspect pulled a pistol and shot the victim and then himself.
