Update on Incident at 7400 Keller

October 18, 2006 -- Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 7400 Keller on August 30.

The suspect, Juan Garcia (H/m, DOB 3/26/89), is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Raymond Hernandez, 40, of 7310 Narcissus who suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to an area hospital where he later died. Garcia was taken into custody on October 17th without incident.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B.E. Roberts and Officer J. Sosa reported:

Mr. Hernandez was sitting on a bench near the basketball courts at Ingrando Park when a small beige/tan vehicle drove by, east on Keller. The front seat passenger stuck his hand out of the window and fired shots in Hernandez*s direction, striking him one time. Paramedics were called and transported Hernandez to the hospital.
