Traffic Incident at 12600 Hempstead

October 14, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 12600 Hempstead about 12:20 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 13).

The victim is identified as Ali Youssef NaFaa, 20, of 7431 Water Park.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant A. Francois and Officers R. Saenz, J. Brashier, D. Harwell and B. Baltrop reported:

Mr. NaFaa was driving a red Chevy pickup eastbound in the 12600 block of Hempstead when he tried to make a U-turn directly in front of on-coming traffic. He was struck by a commercial vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the commercial vehicle was uninjured and was not ticketed for any violations.
