Serial Sex Assault Suspect Charged In Incident
In High School
May 24, 2006 -- A suspect featured
in a news conference last week for committing at least six sexual
assaults against women in the past month in the southwest and
west areas of the city has now been charged with the February
sexual assault of a
15-year-old girl at Westbury High School at 11911 Chimney Rock.
The suspect, Ronald
Walker (b/m, DOB 9-7-80), has been charged with three counts
of aggravated sexual assault and one count of sexual assault in
the 180th State District Court. Another charge, aggravated sexual
assault of a child, was filed Tuesday (May 23) in the same court.
The charge was filed after a female student positively identified
Walker as the suspect who sexually assaulted her in a bathroom
at the school on February 9. Walker was arrested in the 7500 block
of Beechnut on May 13.
Five women have positively identified Walker
as their attacker and investigators are contacting a sixth woman
believed to have been victimized by Walker. The female victims
are all in their mid 20s and live in apartment complexes. In each
case, they were approached outside of their apartments by the
suspect, who asked to use their apartment telephones. The suspect
used the excuse that his vehicle had broken down or someone had
broken into it. After the suspect gained access into the apartment,
usually by force, he threatened his victims by saying he had a
gun. He then sexually assaulted them, asked for money, and then
stole whatever cash they had. The suspect is charged in or believed
responsible for sexual assaults at the following apartment complexes:
* April 4 at 3203 South Gessner Drive
* April 11 at 3600 Woodchase
* April 25 at 9850 Meadowglen Lane
* May 4 at 9767 Pagewood
* May 8 at 12101 Fondren
* May 10 at 6363 West Airport
Investigators believe Ronald Walker might have
victimized other women and are asking those women to contact the
HPD Sex Crimes Unit at 713-308-1180.
